Writing Tea
I am sending this newsletter out early because……
It’s TIME!!!
People, we have a book. We have a cover. We have it uploaded in NetGalley! But let’s take one thing at a time here.
It was a long process, but the cover is here.
It received a LOT of positive feedback online, which was outstanding. The cover alone garnered a lot of interest from folks and even a few new subscribers and followers. (HELLO!!!)
It is also available for request on NetGalley. If you are unfamiliar with Netgalley, it is a book review, recommendation and reading website where you can request the latest and hottest releases as a reader, blogger, or influencer. It is where publishers go to get the first feedback on new projects by authors. My book is one of them. So, sign up and request The Build Up so you can read it and give feedback via Netgalley, Goodreads and Twitter.
If you are hesitant to give out feedback due to the HarperCollins Union Strike, then I understand. To read more on how you can support authors and union workers, follow this link.
I sent out digital ARCS to a few family/friends and links to download to trusted book influencers and authors. I pray they enjoy Ari and Porter as much as I enjoyed writing them.
There was also a tiny blurb about The Build Up in Publisher’s Weekly in an article about Spring 2023 Romances & Erotica Announcements. Check it out HERE.
Podcast Tea
The first half of the season is about to wind down right before Christmas break. I have a lot of guests and booktokers lined up. Our focus has been indie and debut authors and I’ve made a lot of amazing friends along the way…. Also, the podcast episodes are also dropping via SubStack so you may get notifications that the podcast is live too. I hope you all tune in.
I am already planning for 2023. My first guest of the new year is going to be the one and only, phenomenal RM Virtues.
But I got plenty of slots for the new year. So, if you are interested in being a guest on the podcast or a BookToker who wants to share their book picks, hit me up on social media or email romanceincolour@gmail.com.
Random Tea
Planning for my release has been on my mind. I am about to tackle a lot of things. So far, the cover reveal roll out was great. I had a lot of folks on IG, Twitter, and TikTok engage and repost which was wonderful. Some folks even made such creative reveals and reactions.
I hope I can get this Social Media Tour on the ball. The week of the release, I’ll be doing various things on TikTok, IG and Facebook for engagement.
Still looking into local signings and organizing the book launch, but things will come together. I know they will.
Also, swag. What do people like in terms of swag? Book Covers? Book Marks? Art? I do not know. But since I am funding this myself, I am def going to make this economical, cute and in theme with the book. If you have ideas, let me know!
Tati is Reading
Honestly, I haven’t really been reading anything lately. But, they sent me an ARC of Wanda Morris’s new book. Before I could dive in, my husband actually grabbed it and read it and was hooked. She has a new fan in my hubby. But if you like thrillers, intrigue, and crime centering black women, ,both All Her Little Secrets and Anywhere You Run are two amazing projects.
Until next month,
