I am sending this newsletter out a little early because of time-sensitive events! See below!
Writing Tea
Summer is upon us, and I cannot wait for the long days, sunshine, and patio dining. Not to mention, the ease of the workload which will allow me to tackle some much needed writing. (Hopefully, with a cocktail in hand! 🙂)
By the time I send off this newsletter, I would have sent the last edits off for my traditionally published release, Losing Sight. The next phase is copyediting and then off to the printer. I cannot believe in less than a year’s time, I’ll have a new book out on a new imprint. I am so nervous yet excited. It feels like a tremendous amount of pressure.
The book, which is on Generous Press/Row House, will be available everywhere! The fact that I’ll be able to go into a bookstore or major retailer and pick it up, is mind-blowing. (Note: The Build Up, my first release, was not in major retailers. Just available to order and on audio).
It will also be Spotify as well. I love the fact that I’ve been involved in every step of the process. From the editing to the book cover (more on that later), and even the publicity, working with this imprint has been so refreshing. Transparency is really dope. Not only that, the imprint keeps us, the writers, so informed with whatever is going on, even down to the finances. Super grateful that my stories have found a home with Generous Press.
This summer, I am on a strict writing schedule. My goals are:
Finish Book 3 in the Secrets Series. It is an age-gap/sexual awakening story with a twist.
Finish book 2 in what I am now calling my “Sense and Irresistibility” series. The first book isn’t out yet, but I already got an outline going.
Finish my elusive “Lumberjack” standalone. (That’ll probably be pushed to the Fall because of time constraints.)
As for things on the T. M. Richardson side,
The Oath is dropping on audiobook May 14, narrated by Lacy Laurel. I got to hear the preview, and she did an amazing job. You can still pre-order it everywhere.
The Offer, book 2, is coming July 30. You can pre-order the book and paperback now. It’ll also be on KU as well. I am absolutely in love with the cover. Folks loved it and the buzz is going strong on book 2
I’ll also be putting out a sci-fi erotic novelette, probably at the end of the summer/fall. It’s not long and will just be on KU and Kindle. Another experiment in writing that I hope you all will enjoy.
Podcast/Social Media Tea
On Monday, May 13 8 PM EST, I’ll be having a TikTok Live to discuss The Oath on the eve of the audiobook release. It’ll be me and some of your favorite Black Booktokers. It is going to be a time!!! You all join us there! My TikTok handle: @RichardWritesOn
Podcast is on a break until June. We have a few more episodes with authors Frederick Smith, Karmen Lee, and others and then we are on break until September. We still are accepting advertisements for next year as well.

Random Thoughts
May is a special month. Mother’s Day is coming, and I reflect on the fact that I have a precocious 8-year-old on my hands. From NICU to now, she’s truly a miracle. A gorgeous, smart little miracle.
It makes me wish my mother was here. She’s missing out on so many things. Being with her granddaughter or reading the books I’ve written, she’s not here for any of it. My mom’s birthday is May 30th. I usually spend that day looking at old pictures and reminiscing on how much fun we used to have. She was truly my best friend.
Happy Birthday Mom!
And Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, aunties, step-moms, and foster moms out there! You are indeed a blessing. And for those of you who are like me, with moms who have passed beyond this earthly realm, just know that you are indeed still loved and whole. The pain lingers but hopefully positive memories remain.

Other than reading/listening to my Beverly Jenkins historical audiobooks, I’ve read very little. But there have been some gems in between my chaos!
Generous Press’ first book, Someplace Generous, an inclusive romance anthology, is out on May 28th. It is so wonderful and heart warming, full of over 20 stories at varying heat levels. Something for literally everyone. You can order it from BookShop.org or the Zon.
I LOVED Author Nastee’s Brothers Unholy. Black vampires? Yes please! It was so good!
A couple of my author friends have new releases on AfterGlow, Harlequin's new higher heat line.
Out of Office by A.H. Cunningham gave me all the vacation feels. It was a romance fling turned bae book that was exceptional. And this cover! Stunning.
My friend Karmen Lee’s The 7-10 Split is out this May. I am so excited for this sapphic bowling romance. I got the ARC from Netgalley and it was superb.
There are a tons of releases out that I’ve wanted to read but there is only so much time in the day. So, we just have an ever growing TBR! And that’s OK with me! LOL :)
